New Rockford, North Dakota farmer Jeff Schafer was in Denver for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Summer Business meeting. It was Schafer’s first time attending the event and says it was a packed week. “A few stats stick with me from speakers, including one from the CattleFax seminar. CattleFax said the average consumer works 12 minutes to buy one pound of choice beef. That’s a good deal,” says Schafer. “Another thing we learned on the checkoff side is for every dollar invested in the beef checkoff, it returns $11.91 to the beef industry. The checkoff is working.”
