Waterhemp continues to be a nuisance across the region. With the new dicamba formulations, like Engenia, BASF technical service representative Ken Deibert is emphasizing the importance of adequate coverage. That is important for the very large droplets coming out of the required spray nozzles. “Increased water volume and increased pressure are the biggest key for the large producing droplet nozzles. For example, on a TCI nozzle you need to be at 50 PSI, if not 55. As long as you have those parameters covered, success has been pretty good.” BASF is launching a new fungicide platform. The first to market was Provosol for use in sugarbeets. For the 2020 growing season, Veltyma fungicide will be available for corn and Revytek fungicide for use in soybeans.
