The cattle market may be trying to find a bottom after weeks of pressure. Van Ahn and Company CEO Jim Emter says the market has absorbed a series of bearish headlines. “Here’s the thing: it’s absorbed it, but it’s absorbed it on a steady decline,” Emter says. Cattle have moved from the stronger side of the market to the weaker side, while grain markets have taken on more bullish momentum. Emter says stronger beef cutout values and cash cattle markets will be important signals that a bottom is developing. Emter is on the RRFN forum schedule for the 2026 Big Iron Farm Show.
