Summer rains have limited winter wheat harvest in South Dakota to just a few areas. Hallock, Minnesota-based Sugden Harvesting owner Rick Sugden says they haven’t even left for South Dakota yet due to the weather. “We’re still at home, it’s just not getting ready in South Dakota.” When interviewed on Tuesday for RRFN’s Harvest Hotline, Sudgen said the plan is to work in the Gettysburg, South Dakota area, but it just received 1.5 inches of rain. “We were going to go down this week, but with the storm that just came through there the whole town is underwater. The field we’re going to, you can’t even get in there. So, we’re just going to sit tight until things clear up a bit.”
