Grain storage is filling up in Minnesota. Minnesota Grain and Feed Association Executive Director Bob Zelenka says some corn storage is turning into soybean storage. “We’ve been making adjustments and moving what we can,” says Zelenka. “It’s been tight, but we’ve been handling it well. There are a few spots in the state with more moisture where there’s storage availability.” Zelenka says it will take time to get through the grain in storage. “Our markets have been more localized, some going into Mexico, but even there it’s been a challenge with embargoes in Mexico due to more infrastructure deals. They limit the number of trains going into Mexico. Hopefully, markets will come back.”
