Last month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration held a public meeting to discuss oversight of cell-cultured food products. After a transition during the cell harvest stage, USDA will then oversee production and labeling of the food products derived from livestock and poultry. The public comment period has been extended and will remain open through December 26.
