A new survey from AgriGrowth Council found broad concern about Minnesota’s economy and a growing disconnect between consumers and agriculture. Executive Director Darren Broten said pessimism crosses political lines. “Essentially almost two-thirds of Minnesotans think that the economy in Minnesota is getting worse. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican or a Democrat or an independent; everyone shares that same perspective.” The survey also revealed that many Minnesotans have little connection to farming or food production. “That lack of connection can be really stark and can also help shape where people fall with respect to policy positions and how they view multiple things.”
