The Russell Group President Randy Russell expects lawmakers to revisit farm assistance programs. “I gotta tell you, the momentum behind this additional assistance was much stronger earlier in the year. It’s waned a little bit, but having said that, I think the strongest base of support right now is in the Senate.” Russell credits North Dakota Senator John Hoeven, who chairs the ag appropriations subcommittee, and Arkansas Senator John Bozeman, chairman of the Senate Ag Committee. “They are really pushing for it to get done.”
