In a letter to Chairman John Boozman, and Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar, R-CALF USA said the next farm bill should restore mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef, curb formula contracts and packer control, block further consolidation in the cattle and sheep sectors, and overhaul the Beef Checkoff program. R-CALF also wants USDA’s electronic cattle ID rule reversed, saying it adds major costs for producers without delivering the promised benefits.
