During the South Dakota State FFA Convention Day of Service, students packaged food to be distributed throughout the state. South Dakota FFA Foundation President Sandy Osterday says it’s become a favorite tradition for the student members to look forward to at state convention. The Meals of Hope company comes in and brings all of the ingredients and equipment to package meals. The students come as they can during the day when they have time, and our goal this year is 60,000 meals of macaroni and cheese.” Osterday says the students take pride in the experience. “Part of the FFA motto is living to serve, and it’s an opportunity for the students to do that, and they seem to enjoy it.”
