At Wednesday’s ag roundtable event, North Dakota Soybean Growers Association President Justin Sherlock lauded the numerous agriculture provisions in the budget bill. “We’re very grateful for Senator Hoeven and all the work done to include these key agriculture provisions in the Big Beautiful Bill.” Sherlock, who farms in Dazey, North Dakota, admits the job’s not done. “We still have some work to do on getting a full farm bill finished, but this is a step in the right direction, especially ARC and PLC changes to reference prices critical for soybean growers and all producers in North Dakota.” Perhaps most exciting for Sherlock and other soy farmers is the 45Z tax credit. “That’s going to be critical for biofuels.”
