The Minnesota Corn Growers Association has a number of programs that they are promoting to start out the growing season. President Jim Kanten says one program continuing to grow is its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Tax Credit. “This started in 2023, and this credit can be used to help draw SAF projects to Minnesota and support companies that want to expand SAF production in the state. It’s in the governor’s budget and there’s a $5.3 million annual increase for this credit.” Another program addressing an important topic in Minnesota is the Soil Health Financial Assistance Program. “So far, 100 grants have been awarded from this program, and it’s been a very popular program. Right now, there’s been over eight times the number of applicants as there has been funding available and it’s $50,000 is the cap of the grant.”
