USDA will have 90 days to issue the one-time farm assistance payment. These payments are based on 100 percent planted acreage and 40 percent of prevented plant acres for the 2024 crop. The payment rates are estimated to total $43.80 per acre for corn; $30.61 for soybeans; $31.80 for wheat and $21.76 per acre for barley. The $125,000 payment limit is in place although the limit could increase to $250,000 for farmers who receive 75 percent of more of their gross income from farming.
