President-elect Donald Trump has filled the second-highest ranking position within USDA. Stephen Vaden will serve as the deputy secretary in the new administration. He currently serves as a judge on the U.S. Court of International Trade. During the first Trump presidency, Vaden was USDA’s general counsel. Trump previously announced Brooke Rollins as the agriculture secretary. Both appointees face the Senate confirmation process.
