University of Nebraska Extension Dryland Cropping Systems Specialist Cody Creech says Nebraska’s winter wheat harvest is wrapping up. “I think across the board, our growers are fairly pleased with how it’s gone so far.” With yields up throughout the state, Creech says protein levels are a bit lower. “Because we’ve had those higher yields, it’s just harder to maintain that protein. The test weights have been good, not excellent, but not bad.”
