If you’re working around grain bins, NDSU Extension agricultural engineer Ken Hellevang reminds farmers to work in teams. “Do not go in a grain bin by yourself. There should be two people at minimum, even if you’re poking at the grain at the top trying to break up a crust,” says Hellevang. “There are too many risks to cause people to get hurt.” This farm safety reminder presented by the Red River Farm Network is made possible by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and North Dakota Corn Council. More information on how to work around stored grain safely can be found here.
