Based out of Colby, Kansas, JKD Harvesting owner Jim Deibert says spring wheat yields near Bison, South Dakota ranged from 40-to-50 bushels per acre. “However, there has been good protein all summer long. I’m afraid that will be tough on the market, but for some farmers that’s all they had with very little crop.” Deibert’s next stop is wheat harvest at Scranton, North Dakota. “It’s still a little on the green side there, but it may not be long with this hot and dry streak of weather.”
