United Potato Growers of America President and CEO Mark Klompein says fewer fresh red acres are expected for the Red River Valley in the year ahead. “With the market conditions were they are at, you might expect acreage is expected in the reds to be down some. I think yellows probably anticipating a perhaps a slight increase. But the yellow market has been going pretty good and it’s been pretty price positive for a while. The demand there is robust in the ads and promotions that are done on yellows.”
