Vice Premier Liu He will lead the Chinese trade delegation in the meetings Wednesday and Thursday in Washington, D.C. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will oversee the negotiations for the United States. While soybean exports and other agricultural commodities are the focus in farm country, technology transfer and intellectual property rights are the primary concerns for U.S. negotiators. Without an agreement or an extension of the deadline, tariffs will increase again on March 2.
