The American Farm Bureau Federation is calling on Congress to complete work on a new five-year farm bill before the current extension expires September 30.The 2018 Farm Bill has already been extended three times.The House passed its version of a new farm bill earlier this year on a 224-200 vote, while the Senate Agriculture Committee failed to advance its bill in August.According to Farm Bureau, the Senate proposal includes provisions addressing year-round E15, farm credit operations and directs USDA to evaluate new safety net options for dry bean farmers.Farm Bureau said hundreds of programs across the farm bill’s 12 titles still need to be updated before the current extension expires.
