Bayer’s second-quarter earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization came in at $2.4 billion. That was above market expectations. In the Bayer Crop Science business, sales rose 3.5 percent. Business was up for soybean seed and traits, but down for corn seed and traits. In the crop protection sector, sales rose nearly 13 percent.
