The White House is imposing a 25 percent tariff on certain products from Brazil. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer referenced Brazil’s decision to block U.S. ethanol imports as one reason for the Section 301 trade action. Greer also said Brazil allows its farmers to illegally clear land for agricultural production, putting U.S. farmers at a disadvantage in world markets.
