Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has appointed Kip Tom as a special government employee to provide input on data collection. This decision follows criticism about the accuracy of USDA reports. Tom is an Indiana farmer who was the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations agencies in Rome during the first Trump Administration, including the Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Program. Tom is also vice chair of the America First Policy Institute which Rollins created after Trump’s first time in the Oval Office.
