As livestock development gains momentum in North Dakota, community outreach remains a top priority. North Dakota Livestock Alliance Executive Director Amber Wood told attendees at the Midwest Ag Summit that many North Dakotans have little direct experience with modern livestock production. “That’s part of why North Dakota Livestock Alliance exists, so that we can go out in the countryside and have conversations with the citizens in North Dakota that have never seen animal agriculture or haven’t seen it in a very long time. We have changed a lot, even just over the past 20 years.” Honest conversations are a must. “We have conversations on what it’s going to look like, smell like, how many trucks are going to be on the road, just flat out frank, honest conversations about animal agriculture and the opportunity that it brings.”
