Members of Reynolds United Co-op and Halstad Elevator Company will merge into one entity at the beginning of 2019. Reynolds United Co-op CEO/General Manager Paul Coppin says both cooperatives are in strong financial condition, but there will be an opportunity for greater efficiency. “We have some common patrons and we both own a part of Alton Grain so it is a natural combination,” said Coppin. The new organization will operate as Valley United Co-op with a trade area that covers a large portion of the central Red River Valley. Coppin will lead the new organization. Robin Stene from Halstad Elevator Company will serve as chief operating officer.
