Minnesota Soybean Growers Association Vice-President Jamie Beyer met with lawmakers and other public officials to discuss trade in Washington D.C. last week. Beyer says Chief Agriculture Negotiator Gregg Doud is concerned about more than the China trade discussions. “He’s concerned about Japan, Canada and Mexico. On a lot of fronts, it’s concerning. As far as we farmers go, if the trade issue gets resolved this tariff has only hurt us. There will be no benefit for us in the long run as a soybean farmer from all this is happening. It’s just jeopardizing a really important relationship that we have already with China. There isn’t a best case scenario here for us.”
