Prevented plant cut into North Dakota’s corn crop with the area to be harvested for grain down 43 percent from 2019. The corn that got in the ground is performing well with a record corn yield forecast. The yield is forecast at 160 bushels per acre, up nearly 30 bushels from one year ago. The average soybean yield is predicted to be at 34 bushels per acre, up 2.5 bushels from last year. North Dakota’s dry bean production is forecast to be nearly 90 percent higher than 2019 with the area for harvest up 45 percent from last year. Sunflower production in the state is up 64 percent. Sugarbeet production is up 41 percent and canola production is down seven percent.
