Harvest is nearly complete in northwestern Minnesota, with crop yields exceeding expectations despite a dry growing season. Warroad-area farmer Drew Parsley said corn and soybean yields have been particularly strong. “Our yields, right around the edge of the lake here, are actually very good, probably a little bit above our averages, honestly, from an all-crops perspective, especially the later ones like corn and soybeans.” When interviewed on Wednesday, Parsley only had a small amount of harvest remaining, including a field or two of non-GMO soybeans and a couple hundred acres of corn. Tillage and fall fertilizer applications are also underway. “We’re sitting really good in terms of time, and it looks like we’ve got a couple of good weeks of weather.”
