Near Lankin, North Dakota, corn and soybean yields are coming in better than expected. Dale Zahradka’s soybean harvest is complete. “They were good. I would say they’re probably above average,” Zahradka said. “With the drought overall, we were quite pleased with the yields and quality and how they came off.” However, some of his best bottom ground was hurt by heavy rain in late June. Corn harvest is now underway, with moisture running around 16 to 16.5 percent and test weights topping 58 pounds. Yields are also above expectations.
