The 2026 sugarbeet harvest is nearly complete for American Crystal Sugar Company growers. “Good to get the beets in the pile,” said Harrison Weber, executive director, Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association. Warm temperatures forced daytime shutdowns during portions of the campaign, while rainfall created muddy harvest conditions in some areas. Weber expects the Red River Valley average tonnage to be down, but sugar content is closer to expectations. “I think net recoverable sugar is going to be right in the ballpark,” Weber said.
