Minnesota is reporting three additional cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza as fall waterfowl migration picks up. The cases involve commercial poultry operations in Big Stone, Becker and Otter Tail counties, representing approximately 118,000 birds. The largest case involves more than 55,000 meat birds in Big Stone County. Becker County has more than 44,000 meat turkeys affected, while the Otter Tail County case involves 18,000 breeding birds. Animal health officials are closely monitoring wild waterfowl migration.
