Corey Hanson says this year’s drought reached a level his family has not seen in more than 60 years on the farm. Hanson said his family has faced dry conditions before but this season stood out. “Dad moved on this farm in 1964 and he told me that he’s never seen the creek completely dry through our little farm.” The creek will normally stop running during dry periods, but this year even the remaining pools of water disappeared. Hanson farms at Gary in northwest Minnesota and is a director with the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council.
