Corn led U.S. grain export inspections as the new marketing year got underway. USDA says corn inspections totaled about 1.66 million metric tons for the week ending September 3. Soybean inspections totaled roughly 422,000 metric tons, while wheat inspections reached 343,000 tons. The new marketing year for corn and soybeans began September 1. Early corn and soybean inspections are running behind last year’s pace, putting additional attention on export demand as harvest expands.
