Federal Reserve Board Chairman Kevin Warsh did not promise an interest rate increase during his speech at Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, but financial markets increased the odds of a September rate hike. Warsh said the economy remains strong, the labor market is near full employment and financial conditions are not restrictive. He also said inflation has made limited progress toward the Federal Reserve’s two percent target.
