The Red River Watershed Management Board is celebrating its 50th anniversary, recognizing decades of work on flood mitigation and water management. Roseau Mayor Dan Fabian, who is also a former state legislator, praised the individuals who have given their time and energy to this cause. “These people on watershed boards are basically volunteers. They do tackle some big projects and even some big controversies in their local communities, said Fabian. “I just really appreciate the fact that these local people have stepped forward, are willing to do the work that’s necessary to get these projects done.”
