The Trump administration is moving ahead with a 90-day suspension of higher tariffs on 300,000 metric tons of imported ground beef. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the additional imports are designed as a short-term response to tight U.S. beef supplies and high consumer prices. “For the first time in ten years, we have heifer retention going up. The good news is, long term, we’re stabilizing.” President Trump has indicated Argentina could be among the suppliers, but Rollins said those details are still being negotiated. “I am not privy to talk about that.”
