According to Jason Hansen of Rock and Roll Agronomy, the recent moisture in northeast North Dakota came too late to add much yield in the Devils Lake Basin. “It’s better than nothing, but it’s about four weeks too late.” Soybeans look good when you’re driving down the road, but there are issues once you get into those fields. “The drought is really hammering the beans, so I’m not anticipating anything spectacular there with those,” said Hanson. “I know we’ll be below average; we’ve just got too many two-bean pods, some threes.”
