New potato varieties are showing promise under the current dry conditions in the Red River Valley. AIS owner David Parish likes two new varieties being evaluated near Hoople, North Dakota: Dakota Russet and Page. “Those two varieties are really standing out for us this year.” The Northland Potato Growers Association hosted its annual field day Thursday with stops in Larimore, Park River and Hoople.
