Young farmers see some wins in the Senate Agriculture Committee’s latest Farm Bill, but say more work is needed. The National Young Farmers Coalition highlighted provisions creating an Office of Small Farms, supporting peer to peer farmer education and establishing a permanent framework for the Local Food Purchase Assistance program.The coalition says stronger investments are still needed to help beginning farmers access land. The group also raised concerns about changes to foreign farmland ownership reporting and says it will continue seeking changes as the Farm Bill moves through Congress
