Taiwan is a major buyer of U.S. corn, wheat, beef and pork. “We’re small, but we eat a lot,” Taiwanese trade ambassador Alexander Yui said. Despite its size, Yui said Taiwan ranks as the eighth-largest buyer of U.S. agricultural products. Yui said recent agreements on investment and reciprocal trade could further strengthen economic ties between Taiwan and the United States, including efforts to address tariffs and non-tariff barriers. Yui was part of the Midwest Agriculture Trade Summit agenda.
