Taiwan Remains Key Market for U.S. Agriculture

Taiwan remains an important market for U.S. agriculture. Representative Alexander Yui says Taiwan is a major buyer of U.S. corn, wheat, beef and pork. “We’re small, but we eat a lot,” Yui said. Despite its size, Yui says Taiwan ranks as the eighth largest purchaser of U.S. agricultural products. Yui says recent agreements on investment and reciprocal trade could further strengthen economic ties between Taiwan and the United States, including efforts to address tariffs and non tariff barriers.
