Small grain harvest is expanding across northwest North Dakota, but early results have been disappointing. Minot area farmer Chad Rubbelke says dry conditions have taken a toll. “The guys that are going early are low test weight, high protein and low yields.” Rubbelke is hoping for better results with the late-season crops. “Once we get into a little bit later in the year where the fungicides held on that wheat just a little bit longer, we’re gonna up the test weights and possibly a little bit better yield.”
