The Surface Transportation Board has issued a stern warning to Union Pacific leadership. UP CEO Jim Vena reportedly said rail rates would be increased for customers who did not publicly support the merger with the Norfolk Southern Railway. However, UP officials said those comments were taken out of context. The STB did not identify any retaliation but also warned all parties to avoid any similar comments.
