Chad Njos ranches in western North Dakota. “The hay crop in Bowman County this year has been very dismal. It’s less than fifty percent of normal.” Njos said most farmers in the area are haying their wheat and canola. The corn is starting to show stress. “It hasn’t tasseled or anything yet. If we do get some moisture here in the next two, three weeks, maybe there’s a chance that it can form grain, but as of right now, a lot of it is knee- to chest-high.”
