Anheuser-Busch is investing $4 million in its Idaho Falls malt plant, seed facility and barley elevator, while also providing a $50,000 grant to the University of Idaho for barley research. The funding will support fertilizer and nutrient management research aimed at improving barley yields and quality for brewing. Since 2021, the company has invested more than $11 million in its Idaho operations. Idaho supplies about 70 percent of the barley Anheuser-Busch uses in the U.S., with the brewer sourcing grain from more than 230 Idaho farmers each year.
