Crop ratings improved this past week for Minnesota corn and soybeans. Corn jumped three percent, with 84 percent of the crop in good to excellent condition. At 81 percent good to excellent condition, Minnesota soybeans improved two percent week over week. Twenty-three percent of the soybeans are blooming, more than double the long-term average. It’s been a good year for spring wheat with 92 percent of the crop in the Gopher State sharing the top rating. That’s up six percent from last week. Sugarbeets improved three percent, totaling 93 percent good to excellent. Half of the edible beans in Minnesota are blooming, and four percent are setting pods.
