Strong consumer demand continues to support the cattle industry, even with high retail beef prices. “Demand is at all-time highs,” said Randy Schmitt, president, North Dakota Stockmen’s Association. “U.S. producers keep producing the same amount of beef, or even probably a little more beef, on less cattle numbers.” Schmitt says today’s market conditions won’t last forever. “Let’s enjoy it while it’s here and prepare for when it’s not.”
