Despite recent moisture, North Dakota State Climatologist Daryl Ritchison said much of the region remains below average for rainfall. His longer-term outlook calls for warmer-than-normal temperatures and below-average precipitation across much of the Northern Plains later this summer. “Warmer weather will be more prevalent this summer. We’ll be above average overall for the summer and probably most areas below average for rainfall,” said Ritchison.
