During an ag roundtable in Mankato, Klobuchar discussed projects involving farm cooperatives exploring ammonia production powered by wind energy. The goal is to reduce dependence on imported fertilizer and avoid supply disruptions tied to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. Klobuchar said some of the fertilizer facilities could begin operating within the next year.
