Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing said farmers saw both wins and disappointments during the recently completed Minnesota legislative session. Glessing said Farm Bureau members were disappointed lawmakers failed to pass a full agriculture bill, but pointed to positive developments in tax and bonding legislation. Glessing also praised lawmakers for rejecting efforts to ban paraquat herbicide. “We need to follow the science,” Glessing said. “There was a lot of emotion wrapped up in that conversation.” Glessing also highlighted passage of beginning farmer tax credit improvements and sustainable aviation fuel tax credits as key wins for agriculture.
