Due to New World screwworm, the U.S. border remains closed to Mexican cattle imports. However, Mexican beef imports are up nearly 25 percent in the first four months of the year. Most of that total is fresh beef cuts. Mexico’s primary meat industry trade group hopes to double its beef exports to the U.S.
